Set to be the world’s largest offshore windfarm, Hornsea Project One plays a central part in the story of DONG Energy UK’s £6 billion investment in the Humber region.
The regional and UK supply chain is a key stakeholder group for the Hornsea team, making up an important part of our stakeholder engagement strategy. We have refined our approach to supply chain engagement to ensure that it is sincere and valuable for all involved.
Through collaboration with Local Enterprise Partnerships, Chambers of Commerce and commercial bodies, we bring the right people together and represent every tier of the supply chain to accurately showcase this multi-faceted opportunity.
At a successful event we hosted in November 2016 at Grimsby Town hall, DONG Energy signed a historic contract with Deep Ocean, which secured over 150 jobs at the company. Local, regional and national commercial stakeholders became actively engaged on the issue of procurement in this evolving sector. Stakeholders came away from the event with enhanced industry knowledge, connections and business development opportunities.
“We are really encouraged that DONG Energy is hosting events such as this. We’ve been very encouraged by the major developments in our town that are providing lots of opportunities for local businesses and people, and generally bringing prosperity to our area.”
Emma Toulson, Business Development Manager, Humber Local Enterprise Partnership.
