Account Manager
Regeneration (Manchester based)

The Opportunity

Work on some of the most exciting major regeneration projects in the North West and across the UK. Know that what you do matters.

We are looking for positive, hardworking and enthusiastic Account Manager based in our Manchester Office. This means you will play a leading role in designing and delivering communication and consultation activities to support some of the region’s most significant regeneration projects, from town and city centre redevelopment schemes to new housing developments and sustainable travel initiatives.

Use and develop your skills and gain more experience at Counter Context. You will not be a tiny cog in a big machine. You will be working with clients and their partners from day one. You will not be behind the scenes watching others take the credit for work you have done. You will be front and centre, in the limelight and taking the credit for your insights, advice and expertise.

If you have a background in stakeholder engagement, consultation or PR, we would love to hear from you.

If you have knowledge of the planning system and/or local government, we would be really excited to hear from you.

If you have a passion for major regeneration and transport developments, this is the place for you.

The Role

  • Supported by Directors, manage the delivery of stakeholder engagement and consultation strategies, using your strong project management skills.

  • Create impactful communications material (print and digital), making use of your copywriting skills.

  • Organise a range of engagement events, from public exhibitions to stakeholder workshops and community drop-in sessions.

  • Media management and liaison, including drafting press releases and handling media requests.

  • Manage day-to-day client liaison; stakeholder management via phone, email and in-person; consultation analysis and reporting.

  • Manage project finance, budgets and suppliers.

The Offer

We hire talented people who want to be rewarded well for being talented and hardworking.

  • We make sure our salaries are competitive.

  • We offer a generous pension scheme.

  • You also get private healthcare for you and your family.

  • You will be a part of our wellbeing programme and be included in our regular staff socials.

  • Taking time away from working life is important to us, so we offer 28 days annual leave each year and the option to top up with our holiday purchase scheme.

You will be based in our Manchester office with the option to work flexibly. We will want to see you in person when clients and colleagues need to meet up, sometimes at short notice. Zoom is great but nothing beats sitting in a room together. Delivering great consultation and community engagement programmes often requires evening meetings and occasional weekend working.

Most importantly we offer you a place in our growing agency and within a close-knit team who work hard, care for each other and want to make a difference. We have been trading for 26 years. Each year has been profitable. The last three years have been our most successful.
