Account Manager
Regeneration and Transport

The Opportunity

We work on some of the most exciting and challenging projects helping connect cities, towns and villages across the country. By joining our team, you will be helping contribute to the transformation of the country’s transport network: shaping and influencing how we, as a nation, grapple with the challenges of decarbonisation and cleaning the air we breathe.

You will have the opportunity to make a difference every day. You will get to work alongside a growing list of high-profile, national and international clients who are planning and delivering sustainable transport infrastructure, creating new residential and commercial developments, and amazing places people want to work in, live and visit.

You will enjoy the limelight as you work alongside senior client representatives, politicians and engage with communities in cities, towns and villages. You will enjoy working with challenging clients who expect the best but who know how to say thank you and appreciate wise counsel and hard work.

You will also play a pivotal role in growing our agency, working directly with our department Director, as we deliver our 10 year business plan. You will be excited about building new relationships, growing your profile and your own client base.

We are looking for someone with drive and ambition. At Counter Context, you will have every opportunity to progress quickly. This is an ideal opportunity for a proven communications professional, ideally with experience working in the built environment, who is keen to take their career to the next level.

The Role

You will help:

  • Manage the delivery of stakeholder engagement and consultation strategies, using your strong project management skills.

  • Create impactful communications material (print and digital), making use of your copywriting skills.

  • Organise a range of engagement events, from public exhibitions to stakeholder workshops and community drop-in sessions.

  • Media management and liaison, including drafting press releases and handling media requests.

  • Manage day-to-day client liaison; stakeholder management via phone, email and in-person; consultation analysis and reporting.

  • Manage project finance, budgets and suppliers.

The Offer

• We hire talented people who want to be rewarded well for being talented and hardworking.

• We make sure our salaries are competitive.

• We offer a generous pension scheme.

• You also get private healthcare for you and your family.

• You will be a part of our wellbeing programme and be included in our regular staff socials.

• Taking time away from working life is important to us, so we offer 28 days annual leave each year.

You will be based in our Sheffield office with the option to work flexibly. We will want to see you in person when clients and colleagues need to meet up. Delivering great consultation and community engagement programmes often requires evening meetings and occasional weekend working.

More importantly, we offer you a place in our growing agency and close-knit team who work hard, care for each other and want to make a difference. We have been trading for 29 years. Each year successive year we have a grown. The last three years in particular have been our most successful.
